Wednesday Wish List

As I can hear the much dreaded sound of snow against my window. Even though I'm sure it will look lovely once it's settled and despite wishing for snow every winter as a child I'm really not feeling it now. After a couple of weeks of heavy snow and treacherous journeys to work more snow was the last thing I wanted as I eagerly started planning springtime outfits.

Nevertheless, cosy and cute winter proof  outfits always manage to bring a smile to my face; so this week, after spending a few days working out how I could start wearing neon, I'm back to wanting warm clothes and layers for braving the cold!

Sunglasses - Bon Look | Dress - Sugarhill Boutique | Necklace - Olivia Accessories | Brogues - Pikolinos @ Sarenza | Earrings - Layla Amber

Knitted dresses make the wintery weather for me, they're so snug and always seem to hang just right. I found this gorgeous Betty dress while browsing the Sugarhill boutique sale and it instantly caught my eye. The burnt red colour is gorgeous and I love the contrast of the cream in the bow and collar. Another reason why I love this dress is that it's actually in my size - I never have such luck when it comes to browsing sales!

From a warm winters dress I wanted to find accessories that also had warm colours to compliment the rusted red and also make a statement, something that I've been wanting to do with a lot of my outfits lately. I've never been all that confident when it comes to large statement jewellery, especially when it comes to necklaces. Not knowing how they'll work with different necklines and worrying if they'll look unflattering on I've always simply admired pieces like this tiered necklace from afar. After reading Dot's recent post my views on statement jewellery and wearability have definitely been changed! Dot shows just how versatile this necklace is, wearing it with different tops and necklines.

These gorgeous sunglasses from Bon Look caught my eye a while ago and I've been waiting to find the perfect wishlist to show them off in. I love tortoise shell glasses, they're a lot less harsh than black frames and always seem effortlessly classic. I love the shape of these particular glasses. The "La Marquise" frame is, for me, the perfect balance between a number of styles I love making them an obvious choice. If this snow settles they'll also be the perfect addition to any winters outfit, I always forget just how much light snow reflects and how difficult it makes actually seeing anything!

I bought my first, and only, pair of brogues about five years ago now. I love them dearly and have been wanting to get another pair for a long time. Unlike the pair I' already have, I was looking for a pair that was more practical for everyday wear without being too masculine like a lot of brogues seem to be. The slight heel on this pair gives a nice touch of femininity without taking away from the classic brogue style. I think these would look great with a pair of knitted knee high socks teamed with the Sugarhill Boutique dress.

Finally, I've finished this week's wishlist with a pair of Layla Amber earrings. Wooden jewellery is still relatively new to me and something I came across through looking at other people's outfit posts. These fox earrings are so cute and are part of Layla Amber's Woodland Collection which has so many adorable animals - I think the squirrels are a close second favourite of mine after the foxes!

Are you getting more snow where you are? Are you looking forward to it or have you had enough too?
